The best new movie trailers: ‘I Kill Giants,’ ‘Black Dynamite 2,’ and more
2009’s Black Dynamite was a hilarious surprise, a tonally perfect parody of old blaxploitation films starring Michael Jai White as Black Dynamite, a Vietnam War veteran turned vigilante who cleans up the streets and fights “The Man.” It was an absurd film, with Black Dynamite’s quest for justice leading him to fight corrupt cops, a sinister drug lord, and even the President of the United States. It seemed an impossible film to follow up, but Jai White recently posted a teaser for what looks like a sequel on his Twitter account. How can Black Dynamite 2 top a nunchaku-wielding Richard Nixon? The answer can’t come soon enough.
